About Brenda

a life full oflittle ones

Photographer, teacher, studio owner and mother. This is how one camera and a lot of patience grew into a school for photographers all over the world.

I photograph newborns every week. After all these years, holding a baby that is only a few days old still feels like a little miracle.

Before photography I studied sociology and worked for years with children and families. Maybe that is why I love the connection in a session so much: a mother's hand, a sleepy yawn, a father who can't stop smiling.

I went full time in 2013 and built my business around my family. I still photograph clients in my own studio, and everything I teach comes straight from those sessions. No theory from a distance, just what really works with real babies.

Come in

welcome tomy studio

My own little studio at home. Small, quiet and full of soft daylight.

Everything is within reach, so nothing stands between me and the baby. This is where I photograph my families, film my courses and teach photographers who visit from abroad.

  • Shelves with props and wraps

  1. 2011

    The photography school

I started my photography training and registered my business. Still next to my job, but the plan was already there.

  2. 2012

    My first newborns

Tiny fingers, soft light and a lot of patience. From the very first session I knew newborns were my thing.

  3. 2013

    From Ollie with Love

In March I opened From Ollie with Love, a webshop I started together with my mother. It grew into Lovable Photography Props, and soon after I got my very first studio. In September I left my job and became a full time newborn photographer.

    The first workshops

Photographers asked how I worked, so in January I opened my studio for newborn photography workshops.

  5. 2015

    Ollieschool is born

I founded Ollieschool with a complete training to become a newborn photographer, launched my first online newborn course and wrote my newborn handbook.

  6. 2016

    Newborn Plaza

My own event for newborn photographers. A year later it went international, with photographers travelling in from abroad.

  7. 2018

    From posed to natural

My work grew softer and closer. I launched the Newborn Academy and my own backdrops, and started teaching the natural style next to classic posing.

    Studio Management

I launched Studio Management, the all in one system that now runs the business of hundreds of photographers in the Netherlands and Belgium.

the wayI teach

Safety

alwaysBaby first

Every pose, every setup and every session starts with a safe and comfortable baby. That is never up for discussion.

Practice

straight fromThe studio

I still photograph clients myself. What you learn is what I do, week after week, with real families.

Freedom

your ownStyle

Posed or natural, I teach both. My goal is not a copy of my work, but a photographer who feels confident in her own.
